The Suitland Road Youth Ministry Program (SRYMP), continues to develop and grow with a specific approach in mind. The foundation of that approach rest on the basic criteria that youth ministry requires Child Centered Planning. Effective child centered planning requires reflective evaluation that looks at activity potential, activity effectiveness, and areas for improvement in the cultivation of spiritual values in our youth. By monitoring the spiritual growth and spiritual understanding of the youth participants, the SRYMP seeks to be a resource of information to the parents as well as a catalyst to parental involvement in the child’s life and development.
As the SRYMP establishes its’ focus and plans, they will seek to incorporate in their strategies four paths of youth development. The understanding of God in the life of the youth (cognitive development – Pro.23:7), social development skills (Matt.22:37-39), speech (Col.4:6), and appearance (physical – I Thess.5:21-22, Matt.5:16).
Knowing the greatness of the kingdom which the Lord has established through His death for our sins, we seek to have His
name exalted and God glorified, not only in this generation but in future generations as well.
