Mission
The Fellowship Committee plans activities that are designed to encourage fellowship among its members. These activities can include Church picnics, Graduation banquet and special programs held by SRCOC for its members.
Vision
To save the lost by the “Salt” of Christian Love and Hospitality.
1. Christian Love: A feeling of warm personal attachment or deep affection, as for a parent, child or friend. Leviticus 19: 18 You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself: I am the LORD.
2. Christian Service: The organized system of providing accommodation and activities for it’s’ members and to the public. Matthew 9:37 Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
3. Christian Unity: The state of being combined with others to form a greater whole; complete accord among persons regarding attitudes, opinions and intentions. Ephesians 5: 15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God
4. Christian Stewardship: A person who attends the domestic concerns and comfort of others. I Timothy 5: 1 Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, 2 older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.
The Fellowship Committee provides accommodations and activities designed to encourage fellowship among the entire Suitland Road Church of Christ family. These activities will include but not limited to the following: Gospel Meeting, Church picnic, Graduation banquet, Watch Night Service, Preachers Meetings, Mid-Atlantic activities and special programs held by other Suitland Road Church of Christ committees.
